League Updates due to Covid-19

Hello everyone. Thank you to all the bowlers that are returning to your league play this season. To those bowlers that are not returning, I hope you enjoyed your time with us and will consider returning when you are able.

Leagues will be arranged differently this year to meet the social distancing and capacity limits that are set by the Manitoba Health Authorities. Each team will be bowling on a pair of lanes. Larger leagues will be arranged into shifts to start the season. This will provide the required space and allow for up to 6 people in a two lane pit area. Having teams of 4 or 5 bowlers provides even more area for everyone to social distance. Bowlers are welcome to bring their own equipment (bowling balls and shoes). Personal bowling balls will have to be sanitized prior to being placed on the rack. We will have the sanitizer available for this process. You are welcome to sanitize your own equipment. Wearing masks is not required but encouraged. As public health directives change, so will our requirements. Rossmere Lanes has been and will continue to exceed all protocols required to provide the safest environment for our bowlers and staff.

As for weekly assignments, the best way will be to sign up for league emails from league secretary. You can find this on rossmerelanes.ca under the league tab. Find your league and follow the prompts to sign up to receive league updates. This will include standing, results, lane assignment and email alerts when scores are posted etc.

For leagues that will require 2 shifts, we are waiting on an update from league secretary that will assist on the weekly shift assignment if your league requires shifts. For now, if you are assigned to an odd lane, your team plays on the first shift. Even lane assignments will be on the second shift. Keep in mind, the information posted on league secretary currently is still last season’s. It will take some time before we have the new season loaded. We will also post in the centre the next week shift assignment so you can plan ahead. The reason for being placed on different shifts will allow us to mix the teams over the weeks so everyone will have a chance to see all the different teams over a period of time. Once the executive have all the contacts finished and the teams constructed for the new season, first week shift assignments will be communicated.

I understand that this is a major change from how we have operated in the past and everything will look and feel different, so I ask for everyone to give us some time to help everyone adjust to the new league environment.

Please call the centre if you have any specific questions or concerns.

Thank you.
Jamie Newton

Form Your Own Bowling League!

Company League, Neighborhood League, Or Just A Group Of Friends!

Lots of groups are now forming their own bowling league-why not you? In the past we have provided many different league opportunities to you-but we forgot to ask what you wanted, shame on us! Here’s your chance to do it your way.

You form a league of your own with friends, family, co workers or members of an organization that you’re a member of. You decide the time of day, day of week, number of sessions that you want to bowl. Then tell us how often you want to bowl weekly, bi-weekly or once a month. We’ll just provide the lanes for you.

Finally you will have a league you can enjoy with all the benefits you want including a great social activity and a FUN time with friends. Because this is your league you tell us the rules and how much time you want to spend with us.

Leagues can be formed with as few as 8 bowlers (4 Teams of 2). An extra benefit of bowling in a league with only a couple bowlers on each team sessions can be limited to 90 minutes or less too – no longer do you need to mark the entire night/day off your schedule.
